- Setting up a proxy on Android Lollypop:
You can configure each Wi-Fi network you’ve added to connect via proxy by following the steps below:
On your Android device, find and tap the Settings app.
Tap Wi-Fi.
Long tap the Wi-Fi network you want to add a proxy address.
Select Modify network.
Check the box next to Advanced options.
Tap None under Proxy and then select Manual.
Enter the proxy address (e.g. proxy.tifrh.res.in) and port number (e.g. 3128), and then hit Save.
- Script (named proxyon | proxyoff) to turn proxy on and off contains the following lines:
- sudo networksetup networkservice on | off
- run networskservice -listallnetworkservices to find the specific name of network that needs to be turned on | off.
Separate line for each instance.
Mac
- Unable to modify the volume with the keyboard:
"sudo killall coreaudiod"
followed by "sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext" and "sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext"
