Student Funding

Students are not guaranteed funding for this programme, but it is expected that some support will be available. We anticipate four possible sources of funding.

  1. The allocation of funding for graduate fellowships is expected. Decisions on fellowships would be made on the recommendation of the Coordinating Committee.
  2. Funding for teaching assistantships is also expected.
  3. Individuals supervising students may fund students out of their research grants. This will be expected in the case of thesis students.
  4. External organizations supervising students will be expected to support students, at least while carrying out their project or thesis work. Employers will be expected to pay co-op students during work terms. Other students, working on a project of interest to industry or government, may also qualify.

Foreign students studying at MUN (``Visa students'') require a minimum support of \$12,000 per year. This will need to be guaranteed as a condition of acceptance.
