Our lab is equipped presently with a small rotating platform and the main rotating platform of 1.1 m in diameter with computerized motion control. It includes also the auxiliary equipment for creating stratification (two-tank system) and visualization (photo and video cameras both analogue and digital). To measure the velocity and vorticity fields in the flows we use the Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) system which performs analyses of digitized video sequences. The 1 W Argon ion laser is used as a component of the PIV system to illuminate the flows.
